Cross-Category Launch of User Interface Consoles for New Kitchen Products

CHALLENGE

TouchSensor was tasked with designing twelve unique and aesthetically pleasing user interface consoles for the launch of a new brand of kitchen appliances.

SOLUTION

Our team developed a cohesive collection of user interfaces, providing end-users with a line of responsive and stylish kitchen products.

STORY

One of the world's largest white goods OEMs approached TouchSensor™ with the challenge of concurrently designing and launching twelve distinct, custom user interfaces, across four product categories. Utilizing our UI-development expertise and new product launch experience, we collaborated with the customer's industrial design and marketing teams to define the aesthetic details of the product interfaces. The customer called for the UIs to share a common look and feel while incorporating various decorative fascia panels, comprised of unique materials, such as CERAN™, tempered flat glass, tempered curved glass and in-mold decorated plastic. Additionally, several designs featured an industry first, dead-front display with individually addressable backlit keys. To meet the challenge, TouchSensor turned to its technology toolbox and integrated a variety of backlighting and dead-fronting approaches with its patented touch technology. Our team's technological expertise, coupled with our lean manufacturing process, guaranteed a timely and successful launch for the entire suite of products.
